Guidelines & Recommendations at SHED fitness

Please see a full list of CDC guidelines, recommendations and measures being taken at SHED Fitness Columbus upon reopening on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Please stop at the front desk on your first class back in studio to sign an updated waiver. This is a requirement to have on file to attend and participate in SHED Group Fitness classes. No exceptions.

Masks/face coverings for clients are recommended by the Ohio Department of Health, based on activity. SHED Group Fitness classes are HIIT style (high intensity interval training) and your ability to breathe is crucial to your health and safety during class. Please use your best judgement in your decision to wear a mask or not - before, during and after class. Masks are not required, but may be used, and will be worn by our staff when operating the front desk.

In EVERY bathroom, at the front desk, and at wall mounts throughout the studio you will find hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap. We ask that you please sanitize upon entering the studio for class. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use hand sanitizer.

Until further notice, SHED Columbus will be operating with limited class sizes (3 people max per station). You will also notice schedule modifications to limit the number of people in the studio at one time. When arriving for class, please remain in your car until 5 minutes before class. The scheduled instructor will prop open the door when it is time to enter the studio. Spacing out class times allows our team time to deeply clean equipment and surfaces. Thank you for your understanding.

When in STATION 2 (treadmills) and STATION 5 (rowers), you will notice we have removed two treadmills/rowers so that there is proper distance between the 3 individuals in a station together. We ask that you continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others when in station 1, 3 and 4. In those stations, you will notice X’s on the floor, to mark distance between the 3 individuals per station.

Our team recognizes that not everyone will be ready to attend in-studio classes. Thus, we will continue offering pre-recorded virtual classes in MindBody as our team continues to work on a more permanent online solution. Clients on an unlimited recurring membership will have access to SHED's virtual library as well as in-studio classes. If you are not a current client but wish to access our virtual classes online, please see the pricing option for virtual classes only.

Our team will be updating the schedule in 1-month increments as this we continue to reevaluate the situation. The schedule listed on MindBody through July 4th is currently up to date.

SHED Columbus is taking extra measures to ensure cleanliness at the studio. Upon arrival, you will now notice a basket at the front desk with clean towels and a line of spray bottles with disinfectant. Please get in the habit of CHECKING IN at the front desk, grabbing your own spray bottle and your own towel for the class. This helps avoid multiple people using and touching the same towel and spray bottle.

Clean AND disinfect all equipment used between stations. This includes free weights, treadmills, rowers, bands, med balls, water fountain, etc. Upon completion of the class, please put your used towel in the hamper next to the front desk. There will also be a bin to place the used spray bottles so our team can disinfect before the next class.

All SHED Group Fitness classes have been scheduled with appropriate time in between for deep cleaning by SHED Staff. This situation is continuing to change, and our team will do our best to provide weekly updates and communication.

Restrooms/Showers: Our team will be cleaning and disinfecting common areas and restrooms between each class, particularly high touch surfaces such as faucets, toilets, doorknobs, and light switches. Independent showers will still be made accessible, but we will require they be attended and sanitized between each use. Please note that SHED Columbus only has two showers, so please plan accordingly. While we will continue to have our restrooms/changing areas available, we strongly encourage members and guests to arrive dressed for your workout and clean up at home.

Water Fountain: The water fountain will be disabled, however we will allow bottle filling with the no-touch station. If the station requires using the button or lever on the side, please avoid. Should you forget water, we have some for sale at the front desk for $1.

If you are in a setting and do not have on your cloth face covering, remember to always cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze. Throw used tissues in the trash. Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. You will find antibacterial materials all throughout the studio (front desk, in each bathroom, and on the walls in studio).

IF YOU ARE SICK, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CLASS. Rethink the strategy of “sweating it out” and please stay home to respect your fellow classmates.

These are the measures being taken at SHED Fitness Columbus and will be strictly enforced at all times. If you are uncomfortable attending classes or disagree with any of the actions being taken, we encourage you to participate in our virtual class offerings or email to discuss your concerns.

Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation.
